Biography
Jared Fowler is a Fraser Valley-based singer-songwriter whose music lives in the space between reflection and raw honesty. Performing under both “Jared Fowler” and “Jared and the Social Worker,” his sound blends indie, folk, and alternative influences into something deeply personal and quietly powerful.
His songs explore real life—faith, work, doubt, resilience, and the search for meaning in everyday moments. With releases like Vancouver Rain, Parade on Fire, My Ledge Still Waits, and his 2025 album Handle Was My Name, Jared has built a body of work that resonates with listeners who value authenticity over polish.
Whether performing solo or in a stripped-down setting, his live shows are intimate and grounding, drawing audiences in with storytelling that feels both personal and familiar. Rooted in the Fraser Valley, Jared’s music reflects the landscape and lives of the people around him—honest, thoughtful, and unafraid to ask deeper questions.

Press Quotes
“It was bone chilling and emotional, and one could feel the pain echoing through his voice and words.“ – Harvin Bathal – UFV Cascade
It is best described as songs that cause “heart ache and heart break … with a smile.””
Carol Aun – Mission City Record
Jared Fowler jokes in his tour announcement that he’s abandoning his kids to go on the road, stay in cheap motels and eat bad food.
If only more people were as good at parenting.
– Heather Colpitts, Langley Advance
Though mid-tour he admits the roads have been just awful; he says, “you need to go where the true music lovers are, and sometimes that means travelling to the coldest, but best parts of Canada.”
This of course, includes Merritt.
Jade Swartzberg – Merritt Herald
In particular, he says he enjoyed the venue’s intimate, peaceful atmosphere, suited to Fowler’s music, which at one point included a lullaby.
